Diving in Belize

Like many other countries in Central America, Belize is a wonderful country for diving. The second largest coral reef in the world is located in front of the coast of Belize, making it a top diving destination in Central America. Belize has another well known attraction: the Blue Hole. It is a very deep cave, like a hole in the ocean, where you can see reef sharks while you're diving. Another paradise for divers is the Elbow, on the southern side of the Turneffe Islands: here you can see hammerhead sharks, eagle rays and sea turtles. Diving in Belize is possible all year round, but it is recommended to avoid the months September and October due to a small chance of hurricanes.
